Nevena Popović is currently an editor at the Serbian National television’s Music and Contemporary Arts Department at RTS 3 channel that focuses solely on the Arts and Culture.
In her working years she created documentary series about avant-garde art, various documentaries and TV shows about classical, jazz and contemporary music, contemporary art, she adapted a TV monodrama series based on novels, authored a program called Studio 6: a series of live TV and Radio concerts, she also directed and wrote scripts for experimental art films. Nevena’s work covers a variety of contemporary art and music genres and styles. She explores the impact and influence of music and art on society today and throughout history.
Nevena was also a longtime associate of The National Museum of Cinematography in Belgrade and Ring Ring festival of New Music.
She is frequently active as a performance artist taking special interest in electronic, free jazz, world music and musical improvisation. She frequently collaborates with various Serbian film festivals, Student City Cultural Center, L’Institut français de Serbie, various Cultural and Educational Institutions in Serbia and abroad.
Nevena is a graduate harpist with the MA degree from the Belgrade Music Academy and holds an Associate Degree in Comparative Literature and Literary Theory at Faculty of Philology in Belgrade.
